How do you get your stars?

July 7, 2008 4:58pm CST
I've got a little bluse star with a number 10 in it but I don't know how I got it, can someone please explain how you get them and what they go up to. I've been on here for while now and never really taken any notice of it before but lately have been looking at other peoples stars (even though it doesn't mean anything to me!)

You get your stars because people are taking the time to rate what you have to say. And it seems that you are doing well because you have a ten and you've only made 219 posts. Trust me, that's a good thing. It just proves that people are agreeing you and like what you have to say.

You get your star after reaching 100 posts. Now if you notice at the bottom left of everyone's post (except your own) there are 3 little symbols, a +, a - and a !. Whenever someone hits the plus or minus, it affects (to a very small degree) the number in your star. The ! is to report a post for bad content or whatever. Congratulations for starting with such a high star number. you have the highest star number and have almost maxed it out. It does not seem to affect how you make money here, though, it just seems to be more of a popularity thing. Oh, if you hocer your mouse cursor over a star (yours or someone else's) it will show you a number and you can kind of see how the star numbers work.

Thanks for that, have just put my cursor over your start and think I am now starting to understand!
