Have you tried Netflix? |
|
My husband and I moved to a farm a year ago. We can't get cable service here, and we can't even get the free local channels. We decided we didn't want to spend the money on satellite service, so we have absolutely NO TV reception. Over the winter, when it was hard to find things to keep busy indoors, we decided to try Netflix, and we love it. We have the cheapest service level, which gets us one movie at a time, so we get to watch 1 - 2 movies per week, and we think it is great. I'd rather not sit on my butt and waste my time with a movie, but sometimes it's good to take a break? Do any of you have Netflix, or the similar service from Blockbuster? Do other countries have a movie service that sends DVDs in the mail?

1. sassygirlanne007 (2334) | 3 months ago | I have netflix and have had it for I beleive about a year now and i love it. I have a cheaper package so I only pay $10 a month and receive one movie at a time. I like it better then renting them from a store because it's cheaper.

cassidy22 (2677) | 3 months ago | Free is always good, I'll have to check that out. As long as it's legal. With my netflix membership, I also can watch movies online, unlimited. The issue with watching online is that the playback is sometimes slow due to my internet connection (wireless), I have a good screen, but no where near as good as my TV screen. And certainly, the sound system on my laptop is NOTHING compared to the stereo system on my TV, so sometimes it's just better to have the DVD.

3. AmbiePam (10332) | 3 months ago | I recently signed up for Netflix myself. I cut out some other things so I wouldn't be spending more money than I had. It is worth it. I enjoy it so much. I mean I can rent episodes of TV shows, something Blockbuster only does in limited supply in their video stores. My local Blockbuster is over half filled with games now anyway. The cheapest plan is just perfect for me. About two movies a week. Perfect. And when you calculate how much you spend per movie with Netflix, it's usually like a little over a dollar per movie and you spend no gas money to get there.

cassidy22 (2677) | 3 months ago | I live in a rural community, and I don't have any blockbusters anywhere near me, so it isn't convenient for me at all. I'll stick with netflix!

5. coolchic101 (690) | 2 months ago | Netflix is the shiznat. My family and I have been members for years. I'm also on the cheapest level where you receive one movie at a time. Did you know you can watch movies online too from there on your PC? You have to click on "Watch instant" in Netflix, in order to play the movies. But you have to use the internet explorer browser for it to work. I only learned about it recently so not sure if you already knew. I also have tried Blockbuster but they don't have much selections than Netflix does that's why I just stick with Netflix. For Blockbuster, you can return the dvd to the store and exchange it for a new one, instead of dropping them in the mail. Wish they also had a Netflix store, that would be great.
