Shoes- Feel Good in the Store, Then Not So Much  

my grandma used to tell us when we were younger that before we wear a new pair of shoes we need to bite it first. sounds wierd.... at first we dont really do it for it sounds really gross and stupid. but we always end up hating the shoes after an hour. for blisters and a lot of pain the new shoes is giving. so i tried it once, i have a new shoes and bite it a little and it is really true. there was no pain at all. then i ask grandma why do we have to bite the shoe and she said before the bites your feet you have to bite it now so it wont bite you anymore. wow. it doesnt sound the way i expect it to be, but it was effective on me. i bite the right and the left shoe just a little and it gave me no pain. i am just sharing this.... it may sound wierd, believe me it was really wierd. but you wont lose anything if you try. wink wink wink. i am now 38 and my grandma is died when i was 17 so i still bite my new shoes before i wear it.

That always happens to me! You'd expect that it'd hurt within the first ten minutes, but no, it teases us. ;; It's mainly flats and heels that have that effect on me though (then again, I think those are the only shoes that could harm your feet). ^^; Don't feel alone. Haha. I think it happens to a lot of shoe shoppers.

I hate that! I think it's a plot of the shoe stores. Most of them are really cool, so my feet are always less swollen when I go in. Fast forward to the middle of a date, out at a restaurant, you're nervous/excited, and your blood flow increases and your feet swell. That's my theory, at least!

Nothing changed. In the store you wore them for a few minutes later you walked for a few hours. Also a lot of stores have carpet, any shoe will feel most comfortable on carpet , no questions ask. Most of the time you have break in the shoes. The first time is usually a pain if you ask me.

Yeah, happens to us all. We are used to "broke in" shoes not the new ones! And since the right shoe is always the ones people try on, it is usually "stretched" out a bit more than the left which is so annoying! I always pull a box from the back if there are any so both are the same. Plus, I hear peditrists say it is best to shop/try on new shoes kind of mid day - or when your feet are the most "swollen". I forget the term they used, but in the morning your feet haven't workted themselves out, but later after you have been walking awhile, they have gotten slightly more swollen, simply cause they've been working and it is better to try on shoes at that time (sounds silly but I can't find the right words!) And when I buy, I always wear them around the house for awhile before I wear them "out" so if they dont adjust to fit right, I can take them back.
