I read some where about the first aid for headache, it was stated that:
"When headache has begun, the sufferer should lie down in a darkened room and sip a little cold water or soda-water. Food should be avoided altogether especially the cup of tea and a piece of toast"
I just couldn't figure out the reason for this, can you? what are your views about this?

I have to lie down in the dark when my headache is really bad. I get the type which hurts when I move and I don't feel the pain if I keep absolutely still.
I don't know why toast is bad except it takes some effort to chew it and the effort of eating it could make the pain worse.
I have read that green tea is good for headaches but ordinary tea contains caffeine which is not good when you have a bad head.

Hmm interesting. The first thing that came to mind was how my alternate self was saying "wow an excuse to drink soda". I think the reason behind that is cold water or soda water is refreshing. It could be. The no eating part, perhaps it's because we have to do some chewing movements. I've experienced this before when I had a headache, it was quite uncomfortable to chew.

I get headache quiet often. I do not sip cold water or soda water. However taking painkiller and lying in aircondition dark room put me into a deep sleep. Normally once I'am awake the headache is gone. Tea and coffee contain caffein. If you drink caffeinated drinks it's difficult for you to sleep and the pain will not go away.So the conclusion is, take a good, long rest, in a quiet, dark, undisturbed environment is an aid for headache.
