I am trying to learn French, I took it in high school, but I cannot take it until the middle of the year in college. So, I am looking for some software (for a broke college student) that will help me keep up on my French, and if possible help me learn some more.

Hi there, do try looking for Pimsleur Online. I've downloaded the Mandarin and Cantonese tutorials so I'm sure you'll be able to get your hands on the French version for free. It's pretty basic though but if spend time on it you'll definitely learn a lot. And the best part is that it's completely free! I think I got mine using Limewire, so any other download programs might have it as well. Good luck!

Is it designed to be free or was it pirated? I want to be legitimate and not pirate. Because I feel that it is wrong to not pay for software that people have worked hard to design. I will be sure to look into the Pimsleur things though, I believe that they wrote the foreign language textbooks that I used in High School.

Hi, I know such website that offers a free learning. I am part of as an English tutor. The site is free and you don't have to download anything. I don't much about French but in learning the English language, you'll be able to learn the four skills...reading, listening, writing and speaking. Just try this site so you'll know more... by the way, there are French speaking people to that you could be-friend with to practice your speaking skill. Take care...
