I need help with yahoo messenger

I switched back from firefox to my internet explorer.. well, I use to be able to access my yahoo mail from my messenger by clicking on the little mail icon,(but the firefox browser would bring it up) since I deleted firefox it will no longer open my mail when I click it. does anyone know how I can make that go back to letting me open it through internet explorer??
