Do you go hiking in the rain? We've never set out for a hike in the rain, but have got caught out before. And, we didn't have the rain poncho's packed of course! We have them in our packs all the time now.
I don't mind hiking in a light rain, but don't think I'd like it in a down pour.

I dont mind much the hiking or the backpacking in the rain heavy of light. what I do mind is when its time to make camp all is wet. As long as you have a nice warm car or house to go to shower and put on dry clothes a hike is ok in the rain. Like you said best to take rain ponchos. These can be a life saver. Great post and happy loting your my lot. :)

I have never hiked in the rain, but I have gone camping and had it rain. That wasn't much fun!
I got caught going to work once in the rain. I was not prepared at all and it began pouring rain! I worked with another gal and she and I took the same bus to work. When we got off the bus, we started running, then stopped and laughed because we were both already soaked, so why run? LOL
We started dancing up the road singing, "Singin' in the Rain". I'm sure that anyone who saw us thought we were nuts! It was such fun!

They may have thought you were nuts, but at least they knew you were happy and having a good time. People don't take time enough for simple pleasures anymore. Everything is rush, rush, rush all the time.
We got caught in a downpour when camping as a child. We just kept praying the tent would hold together!

I haven't been on a real hiking tour in the rain, but I love to take a walk in the rain - very refreshing - but only if I can go home to a warm shower of course :)
