Guess every one goes through cultural shock when they move or visit from their own country to another. Hope you and your hubby have many happy years and hope he finds work soon if not maybe you should reconsider moving back to the US where he has a job already. WE aren't all bad here...lol

is he canadian or american? i have a friend that got married in october/06 and they still cannot get together (she is canadian and he is american and their respective governments seem bound and bent to keep them apart!

i cant help but smile when i read the title of your discussion coz i know exactly what it is like.
it is understandable that you feel that way coz you guys are away, i know some will say that it is just a distance and you still have each other despite that STILL it is not enough coz the personal presence itself is a huge difference just than talking on the phone.
i have to agree that US is becoming more and more into religion and politics lately and not much about the issues that is more important. i know politics is important but to hear it 24/7 will not make a change at all.
i like BBC myself coz they seem to be more fair and give both sides of the stories.
i have never been to canada but i like the place coz it looks very clean and just peaceful.
i have never heard anything bad about canada and mostly it is about the great stuff specially the health issues that americans dont have.

i think i will feel what you are feeling right now soon coz my hubby will go up in BC for a training and it will be a week trip. we wish i can go but we have pets at home and it is more of a business trip and it wont be fun at all.
oh well.

im sure i will want the same thing of not letting him go once i got him back LOL

anyway, you sure sounds very in love and i am happy to hear that.
it makes me smile when i see someone happy and in love coz it is one of the greatest feeling in the world.

Both of you should consider the advantage and disadvantage of one of you working in a distant place. In family and Job consideration which is which first? To me I would consider family first because jobs are they even if it seems nowhere at the moment, but it will be available someday and family if you loose you know the outcome of it.
