Byron Lopez was shot in the alley beside my apartment building. He was 28 a 28 year old Gardena man. My friends and I saw the cops outside and I asked them if someone had been shot. After I told the cop that I live in the building, confirmed that a man had indeed been shot. It happened on or around June 28, 2008. I had kind of put it out of my mind until my aunt mentioned it tonight. She said that she had saw something on the news and knew it was close to my place. She did not realize how close. I have heard rumors about why he was killed, but I will not spread them. I just know not to be roaming in this neighborhood at odd hours. When I first moved over here, I assumed I would be safe.
