I have been using Windows since it became available back in the early 90s. You know last century.
What I have learned over the years is not to jump on the bandwagon when a new release hits the market. That kind of thinking has saved me many sleepless nights I am sure as many of my friends couldn't wait to upgrade and usually paid the price.
Now Vista has been out long enough that the issues around it should be fixed but I am still hearing how people don't want to upgrade.
I'm of the thinking if it ain't broke don't fix it.
What are you feelings about Windows Vista?
Worth changing for or NOT?

If you are using windows xp then you should not upgrade to vista. I tried to use vista 7 times because i like to explore new things. But the thing is that I could not tolerate vista more than 3 days. That's too much for me i think.
Actually vista should upgrade your pc but in my opinion it degrades your pc.
It's use, new features, security all sucks. One unique feature of vista is you have to search for long time if you want to change vista feature. And more annoying is whenever you want to open a new program it will ask your permission which is very irritating.
So i suggest you not to upgrade vista.

Hi there WebMann, I have had vista since it became available to the public. I think all of the problems and bugs/security problems have been fixed, there are many windows updates for vista including Service pack 1. Vista is a good OS, it looks good, its easy to use, the only disadvantage i would say is that windows vista uses quite alot more system resources such as memory (Ram). I have 1.5gb of ram and i struggle to play game due to the system using alot of my memory.
It really depends on what you are using your computer for and what system you have.
All in all I am happy that I have upgraded to vista. Its great. I have not had a single problem with this OS since the updates .
Hope this helps.

I forgot to mention, Windows Vista has a built in compatibility program that you can change so you can run old programs etc. I have had no problems running programs from windows ME and xp.

I got a new laptop around the time Vista came out but I ordered it from Dell with XP because thats what I was use to but am like you as well and wanted to wait on Vista. I have friends that have Vista and well some of them chat in the same chat area I do and there is some conflict you have to work around and well I just don't want to deal with it. I like XP and probably won't upgrade to Vista unless they stop supporting XP. I went from 98 to XP and I like it.

I only heard bad things about vista. Nothing that is better than XP. It steals your ram!! Wait more before you get it. And I heard Microsoft gonna stop selling XP or maybe then already have done it?
But my advice is to wait wait wait for more updates to vista more secure everything better. And today most programs is for XP or at least all of them works to XP. Not all thought but many.

My laptop was stolen last week and I had to buy a new one. And sorry to say right now its impossible to find a laptop with XP on it. According to the retailers that I contacted XP has basically not been in production for over a year. So you better get used to Vista, for now thats all that available. I contacted several companies like Dell, Toshiba, Gateway, etc. and they all told me the same thing. That I would not likely find a system unless it had been sitting on a shelf for well over a year.
