My son is 5 yrs and 8 months . He sleeps with us , his parents,in the same bed .
I heard somewhere that children who sleeps with parents does not develop self reliance and remains dependent till old age . Is it true ?
I don't know how to make my child sleep alone .
Advice me from your experience and views .

Hi friend,
Its absolutely wrong idea. The thing you have to do this try to make them sleep on other bid which is beside you and not on your bed.Even i also slept like that,i haven't lose anything instead i am independent now.I can think and do my things of my own.Don't think about that much.Learn him good new things everyday.Try to be very friendly with him or her.Thats all and bring your child with love and care.Thats all its enough.
Have a nice day

my children never slept with us. the only time they had was when they werent feeling well. once they started sleeping through the night as babies they went into a crib in their own rooms. i think if you want your child to sleep in his own bed in his own room you are going to have to just do it. maybe start out slow and move him out of your bed into a sleeping bag on the floor. and then start making him sleep in his own room. i don't know if there are any benefits from having him sleep with you or not. but who wants to be telling their friends "yea i slept with my parents till i was 8"

My son is 6 & he sleeps alone. I don't let him sleep w/me. He sometimes asks but i feel like he's too old. Plus it would be impossible to sleep w/he's all over the place lol. I just tell him when he asks that he's a big boy & thats all part of growin up-sleeping by yourself. I also remind him of his older cousins that sleep alone & he seems content w/that.
