Gold jewellery or diamond jewellery!

It is common that women tend to wear ornamental gold jewelleries or diamond jewelleries while attending parties, celebrations etc. Why do they wear them? Is it to show their status to the world or to be treated with respect from other groups or just like that? Could you elaborate?

I love jewellery very much both in gold and diamond, but diamond attracts more

I think women wear jewelry for a variety of reasons. There is, as you said gold and diamonds, and those I think can be classy, elegant and be a type of status symobol. Then there is more casual jewelry, like a simple necklace one might find at a shop, that isn't pricey, this would be something worn just for fashion and maybe for sentimental reasons. I know when I was a kid me and my best friend got a set of best friend necklaces, where each person has a chain with half of a charm that says best friends. So really I think everyone has their own reasoning. I know personally I like diamonds and silver over gold, but I don't really wear jewelry that often, but most the jewelry I have is kinda cute fashion jewelry, I do have a few nice pieces that are silver that my mom got me for holidays a few times, but other than that I mainly stick to less pricey jewelry, because I'm afraid I'd lose it. :/

They do it to show their status or to look beautiful or both. In a gathering of relatives and friends, it is considered important to show how well off they are. Of course, since time immemorial, jewellery is considered to make a women look more beautiful.
