I see the view point of the negative and positive theory but I have another point of view. Is it possible that the one who sees it as half negative is a realist! Have you thought of it that way before?

Well i actually have tought of this and I used to be a glass half empty negative type of person. I justified myself by thinking that if i think of the worst possible outcome and expect it, I won't be dissapointed in anything anymore. But just thinking that way is bad for me personally. If im always pessimistic im a bore and drag down my friends, like when were having a good time somewere and we decide to go to the movies, I'll expect that the movie we want to see is either not going to be shown at the times we want it to. Or that the movie theater is closed. Now i voiced my opinions out loud and my firends get pissed at me for ruining the mood. Now if we go there and it turns out that i was right, they would be even more pissed of at me. It's a lose lose situation here.

For me personally being a positive thinker has it's benifits. Having hope for something does wonders for my mood, and I'm more enjoyable to be around. Also just because you are a positive thinker doens't mean you arent a realist. You can think posistivly about the glass being half full and not expect some magic fairy to come fill the glass back up, but sometimes good things tend to happen when you're in a good mood, i think thats because when you are in a good mood it infects others moods making them more cheerfull and fun to be around.

It simply depends on how the person is feeling at present. When he feels that everything's going with his plans, then he'll say, it's half full. However, when it's the other way around, surely a person who's feeling bad will say that it's half empty.

Well, it's just for me..
