What If You Found Out Your Kid Was Doing Drugs?

There was a major story in my area. A young girl of eighteen had gone to a party one night and when her parents awoke the next morning, the girl had not yet returned home. Frantic, they called all of her friends and found out that she had gone to a party at a home in another town. They were able to get the address of the house and drove over there. Their worst fears were confirmed when they found their daughter lying dead on a couch. How did this happen? Apparently, the girl had a problem with heroin. The parents were well aware, but their attempts for getting her help were fruitless. Now the mother says she thought the daughter had the problem under control, but realizes that she was just masking the problem better to make her parents think she was not using anymore. There is a rise in heroin use now because it's cheaper to get. How would you feel if it were your kid and what would you do to handle the problem?
