People who are multilingual have the LINGUISTIC gift as manifested in Dr. Howard Gardner's Theory on Multiple Intelligences. They are bright in the sense that they can easily respond verbally to any idea, suggestion, argument, or as the case may be. It takes keen observation, lengthy passion, deep perseverance for one to practice and know the tongues. It might sound confusing among polyglots (multi-linguists) if failure to constantly get used to it and accustomed to it is apparent. Reading multi-lingual books, listening to multiple tongues over the radio or TV, comprehending the essence and idea and of the discourse, then later practicing it make perfect and self-fulfilled.

I find multilinguals quite intelligent because their brains are so complex that they could decipher more than two languages. This is an advantage of one's flexibility not only with language, i guess, in general these beings tend to decode or learn stuff without pretty much effort. :)
