InBev to buy InBev to buy Anheuser-Busch for $52B email this discussion to a friend?

So, I just saw the news that a Belgian company is going to be buying InBev to buy Anheuser-Busch for $52 billion. I don't honestly drink, and if I did it wouldn't be beer, but it is interesting and that is a lot of money. I guess a lot of p[eople must like beer... happy

So, beer drinkers and people who just like to follow large amounts of money what do you think? Was this a wise investment for InBev? Are you worried that your favorite beer will change?

It was inevitable that AB would fall to InBev. The Brazilians are very persuasive. Plus, some higher ups in AB wanted some spots on the new AB-Inbev board. For Inbev, this was likely a great move. I haven't read all the details but I assume they'll now have access to Bud's breweries and, more importantly, distribution lanes. It makes Inbev the world's biggest brewer. Yeah, they enjoyed it.

A lot of people do like beer; unfortunately it's not good beer. I doubt that Budweiser beers will change. Like their brewer, the beers have no heart. Just a corporation in a bottle.

Drink a craft beer from a local brewery and forget about the big boys.

Interesting, so this has been in the works for a while.......I never knew.

Yes, it's been serious since at least February or March this year. I think InBev has tried this in the past with A-B but they rebuffed the offer. Times change.

It would be pretty dumb of them to change the beer, people who like it wouldn't be happy most likely.

Hi Darkdancer I don't drink so that doesn't affect me

I also don't drink, so it doesn't affect me either, at least not in the direct sort of way. However, if they start (I don't think they will) laying off a bunch of people then that could affect me, albeit indirectly.
