New Deadly Weapon used against U.S. Troops in Iraq

"U.S. fighting forces have been ducking “RPGs,” or Rocket Propelled Grenades, for years in Iraq, now they face an even deadlier weapon -- “IRAMs,” or Improvised Rocket Assisted Munitions, fired by remote control from the backs of hit-and-run trucks. The low-tech devices now favored by suspected Shiite militiamen use powerful 6.7-inch rockets to lob propane tanks jammed with hundreds of pounds of high explosives at Coalition targets, according to the Washington Post.
The Post report concludes that the IRAMs are potentially more dangerous and deadly than roadside bombs or conventional mortars and rockets -- a theory backed by the fact that the big aerial weapons have killed at least 21 people this year, including three U.S. troopers."

That is really scary. Just something new for our guys to worry about! I'm typing on the computer and our guys are ducking weapons fire. We tend to forget that, don't we.

I think we ended SHock & Awe way to soon, we bombed the crap out of them, but it doesn't appear we did it enough. We have got to stop being the nice guys!

If you ask me, it's just another reason why we should pull our troops out of there. I think this war has gone on long enough. Actually, a little too long.

Of all the billions we are spending in this war how many times have we discovered that our troops are not properly prepared? Why do we continue to let our forces go over there with out enough of what they need. This is disgraceful. And to think we should have the most powerful military in the world and yet we can't win this because of what we dont have.

It isn't just our guys who are fighting and dying over there. But this certainly sucks a whole lot. They'll really need to step up their searches of trucks now for sure.
