Throughout History a lot of trust and importance has been placed in "Omens", the belief that coming events can cast their shadows before. There are references of these Omens in the folklore of nearly all our races, in the times of the Greeks, the time of the Romans and so on... Even Shakespeare's Julius Ceaser has references.
Some of the most common omens we know or have heard about are like the sighting of a comet which was meant to signify the outbreak of war in the ancient days, the howling of dogs signifying a death in the neighbourhood.
This discussion is not about our belief in them, but only to share some of the more strange seeming and lesser known ones that you may have come across.
Here are some which I did,
The Quacking of duck is considered as an indicator of fortune and prosperity.
The Cackling of Geese is an indicator of danger.
An unhappy married life for a bride and bridegroom if they encountered a pig on the return from a Church.
So, do you know of any really whackie ones ?
