What weird kind of old wives tales or home remidies have you heard of?

I ahve had a pretty bad ear infection for over a week. I wen tot he doctor and they gave me some meds and ears drops btu some meds I couldn;'t afford. SO some online friend told me that if someoen blows smoke in my ear it would help ease the pain and itching. I tried it and it did indeed help. I was also told to put pee in my ear ROFL! Of course I am not abotu to try that but it does mkae me wonder,what kind of old wives tales,or home remedies have you ever heard of that make you laugh or go WHAT?!?!?!

haha I think that old wife got it wrong. There is such a remedy but it is used to soothe the aching in that area after stuff like hemorrhoidal surgery, or childbirth. medically we call it a hot Sitz bath.

I have read about home remedies for ringing in the ears. I am suffering from ringing in the ears and I used onion juice. I pour a few drops of onion juice into my ears and it worked. You can try onion juice for your ear infection. I also take vitamin B complex and learn to relax.

Hum now that sounds very interesting indeed thank oyu dfor sharing this.
I have heard about taking the Vit B and have heard it helps but the pills I was going to try that were loaded with B tasted like UGH I don't even know they smelled and yea I stopped taking them after one day lol.

I would not be to quick to laugh at the old wives tales or old family sayings because most of them do work such as bread and milk on infection,egg white,and potatoe,I have use most of them and they do work such as if you sprag yur ankle use mullen leaves in hot water and rape you ankle with them and it will take out the swelling in just a few days
