Today I had to get my car insured, first things first, I am 18 and I have only been driving under a license for 2 months. The first place I went, Nationwide, gave me a quote of $176 a month, and a charge of $291 for joining them. I said no thanks and went to State Farm Insurance, and get this.... They take 6 month payments at a time, so my price would be $514 for 6 months... that is $86 a month, less than half the price of all the other insurance companies I have looked into. I was expecting it to be $150 a month, but this is a pleasant surprise for me :) This may seem like a lot to some people, but remember I am a new driver hehe

Sounds like a good bargain to me. I don't know what state you live in but I am in California so the price for a new driver sounds pretty good to me. As anold guy I pay about 40 bucks a month, so twice that sounds reasonable.
Nationwide needs to get their heads examined, they asked you for way too much!
