I'm looking to buy a dog for my 2 girls- they are 2 and 7. What would be a good family friendly dog? I don't want a dog that is too large and I don't want one that is too small. It needs to be a good healthy size. Thanks for the advice!

There are lots of dogs that are really great with children! I would definitely look into breeds that are especially good with children. Also, you may want to think about getting a dog that is a couple years old instead of getting a puppy. Puppies are a lot of work. They have a lot of crazy, hyper active behaviors. Plus, they tend to mouth and bite a lot. And they often jump on people and can knock over small children.

Look up the English Springer Spaniel, they are very sweet dogs, and gorgeous too. My family used to breed them, so I grew up from age 0-now with these dogs, and so have all my other siblings, and they have never been a trouble with children. They aren't too big and drooly, and they aren't too small and prissy. They are a good breed with little to no health issues when you have them, a healthy pet keeps a family happy. The common colors are liver and white (brown and white), and black and white. Check them out!
