I transplanted these Astillibes awhile back this spring. It added a lot to the back yard appearance. Now I took the plastic fencing from around my garden and set it along the Astillibe bed. Adds even more personality to the back yard now. I am constantly changing things this year it seems. I guess even a gardener gets tired of seeing things the same each year. Are you this way with your lawn decorations? Are you always adding or changing the way your areas look by adding new things? HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Wow, you got nice flowers and a great lawn. I am impressed. We like to add to the lawn ornaments and plants every year. Right now i have an andromeda that is doing poorly. Will add more acid to the soil tomorrow.

I am changing a lot of things, but mostly by doing containers. I want to do what my dad did, next year. He had an area that he just sowed wildflower seeds. I have some and I think they will be great.

A wildflower by a main intersection, - Besides bachelor buttons there were several of these in really happy yellows, oranges, and pinks. I think I know what they are, but have not looked them up to make sure.
Someone planted a huge bunch of wildflowers beside one of our main roads toward the outside of town. Hubby and I got out and looked. Mostly they are bachelor buttons, but there were some others, and I am not sure of their names, believe it or not. I think I know but have not taken time to look them up. I will put in a pic.

That is one thing, believe it or not, that I can't seem to grow. A packet of wildflowers. I've tried a few times and nothing. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

That is really gorgeous. I wonder what your entire property looks like, all the lovely things together in one picture. I think Minnie's kids have quite an advanatge with you as their grandpa. I remember my own grandpa, years ago used to grow squash and tomatoes. Just those two things alone fascinated me, seeing them get bigger and bigger. And then when we'd spend the night he'd tell us stories of the Killer Squash. As for a lawn decoration, well, it is a good thing I live in an apartment and don't have a lawn. Otherwise I'd probably get a tacky, pink flamingo and stick it out front for the whole world to see...and laugh at.

Front Yrad - You can see almost all the flowers I have out front.
The boys love picking my apples each fall the most I think. Here is a photo of my front yard. Most flowers you can see in this photo. Except at the end of the deck against the large window is another of my Lily beds. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Your astillibes look really pretty with the fencing. I used to have some fencing along mine, but it kept getting knocked down, so I gave up on it for awhile. I don't change my plantings much, but I do plant some new things every year. I'm just happy to have some of my perennials survive. My astillibes are my favorites, because I've had them for over 20 years now.

When I first planted them, I had red, white, and pink ones. The only ones that survived are the pink ones.

Since I don't have a yard all spruced up like yours I don't have lawn decorations or all the pretty flowers. But my son did clear out our flower beds in the front yard and took out some old big bushes and planted some smaller ones a while back. I do think it is nice to see yards changed up ever so often.
