What would you say is "Imagination"? How would you define it? Do you think what people say about what your mind perceive you can conceive is correct? That is, if you imagine it, it will come about?

My definition of imagining is a state of awareness that can only be achieved by over thinking, involving the sub-conscience. I am constantly imaging throughout the day of what my life would have been like if I had made some choices over others. And sometimes that has led me to dark thoughts. And sometimes feelings that you've never really had usually come up when you are imagining.

imagination for me is those images in your mind triggerred by anything: a song, a line, a story... it's that version of reality or what ifs inside our heads that doesn't necessarily come forth in reality.
i believe the mantra 'mind over matter' but only so far that it doesn't break any other natural law of the universe. i think 'will' plays a big part in achieving seemingly impossible tasks, aided by trial and error and practice of course. like i belive a person can jump high with enough will and physical prowess but he cannot fly because that would break the law of gravity... but then again, i could be wrong.

Imagining is picturing something in your mind like images, words or events. Imagination is a wonderful thing like day dreaming. It is useful in children's stories for good description and detail. If you imagine something it may or may not come true. I read the other week about the law of attraction. Someone might think they don't want a parking ticket but actually get one. I imagine what my destination will look like and it is often very different from how I imagined it.

Imagination is what separates human beings from the rest of the animal kingdom. It is the ability to think abstractly, and it is what gives humans the ability to use hypothetical reasoning. No other animal can do this. Now, it is hard to say that what a person perceives can be conceived as correct. There are disorders that can affect a person's sense of reality with delusions and/or hallucinations.
