How often do you take your puppy outside?

Puppies need to go after drinking, eating and playing. I didn't know about after playing until I read it in a training book. It said that puppies get very excited and have to pee after and sometimes while playing.
I took my dog out a lot when he was a pup, just in case he had to go. Sometime he went, sometimes he didn't. Puppies have to go often, their bladder is small, so take her out often. Every hour, until she learns to let you know when she has to go.
The puppy pee-pee pads are good, because if she has to go, that's where she'll do it. It has pheromones so they know to go there. I didn't even have to show my puppy, he just went to it and peed.

When or puppies were younger we had a tight schedule. They went out every 45 mins. And this technique really worked to keep them from having an accident indoors. And there were times when they went outside and did nothing, went back inside and did their business on the floor, lol. They are compltely house trained now, but it took some time.
