Hi, my love one smokes and he would like to quit smoking. I know it's hard for him but I like to help him quit during the process.
I know he can make it and we both help each other in working towards quitting to smoke. For those who have time to share your expertise in some ways to quit smoking, we are very happy to hear from you.
Thanks and hope to hear from you soon.

I was a chain smoker once. I smoked for over twenty years. One time I had a very painful severe sore throat problem. It probably was coming from smoking too much. In any case, smoking aggravated the pain.
So, here is what I did. I stopped smoking for one hour. Well, my throat felt better. So, I told myself - "if you can stop smoking for one hour, why don't you try for another hour ? ". So, I did for another hour. That was wonderful. Now try for another one hour ! Success ! Then I told myself - "you have stopped smoking for three hours now. Why not stop it for the rest of the day ?" I did. And that was the end of smoking. From that full day, I stopped smoking completely. Gone for ever now.
That was my way of quitting smoking. What it needs is determination. Thers is no other way !
Try it. Best wishes to you.

I quit smoking about 2 years ago now. The only time I ever smoke is if I have more than a couple drinks, and that's only if I'm around friends that smoke a lot. So I either try not to drink too much around them or not be around them if I drink. I quit cold turkey, the day I graduated from college and moved home for the summer to do an internship. My parents disapproved of smoking, I wanted to quit (big factor, you have to actually WANT to quit, not just have other people who want you to quit) and my internship was 10 hours a day with no breaks. That made it easier to quit, without the opportunity to take frequent smoke breaks. I've heard on average that it takes 11 tries before someone actually is able to quit smoking, so I think your best bet is to be his support network.
