Yes a pay increase would help, but I don't think that it would be the solution. It would just mask the problem being high oil prices. I think that something needs to be done about that first to lower the cost of oil and then the prices for things should go down as well.

July started the salary increase here in Philippines ( CBA ). However, this is not enough to cover the gas hike. This is basically the yearly increase but not intended for the gas price increase to cover it up. The best way is to lower the gas price, that's it.

you both should have thx for that. it's already july.. but still i don't have any salary adjustment. and i agree the ultimate solution is to lower gas/gasoline price rather than to adjust our salary.

In my country nobody gives salary raise because price increases on gas or energy or even for the basic food products. It seems like the only way people get a raise is by organizing strikes and protests.

They do increase the salary to follow the inflation, but not all the time, only every now and then...

Unfortunatly no, Gas prices continue to rise daily and my income stays the same. Right now I am max out on raises untill I get promoted again, which could be years beofre that happens if it ever dose. It dosen't seem to me like anything is being done about this. If people only realized how it hurts the economy dipping into our spending money. I have had an idea to boycott one gas chain for a month or two only going other places, untill they are forced to lower prices. and just rotate were we go keeping prices lower then they are now, it is just hard to get the message out to enough people to really make it work.

you're the same as me.. it's really hard to get the message out.. even if there's already demonstran out there. government can't do much to control oil price.. it's really complicated
