I don't do this while at home but when I am at work I stick my post its to my desktop calender but when I leave notes for my two bosses I always stick a post it on their monitors because if I put it on their desk, it tends to get lost in the shufle.

I don't have a post-it sticker but I use yahoo widget's JC Sticky Deluxe, its the software equivalent of post-it pad. My desktop screen would have a few of this floatin beautifully. Before for simple note I always write it in a piece of paper I could find in my desk and place it under my monitor, I know its not the organize way, I'm just a pack rat.) this is the reason I choose the software version.

At home, I had never placed post its on my monitor. Well, I really don't need to anyway.
But at the office? It's all around the monitor and if it doesn't fit (or it's really obstructive already), the rest would go to the desk walls. It really didn't look good. Send email to this, send report to this person, talk to him, monitor her. Even simple things I post it.
Too bad, in my previous office there were lots of visitors and we had to let go of all post its and should not be used in anyway. We were just encouraged to used softwares on the pc such as notepad/ms word to store reminders. Well, something's wrong since almost every week, the files get deleted anyway and the files cannot be easily transferred from one pc to another when needed. It takes a great deal to accomplish it and it's the IT personnel who gets an earful.
