are you sure your credit card number was not being stolen on the internet? are you sure you are the only one using your credit card number?

well i'm doing all my best to prevent that from happening. there is no sure way of stopping it from happening. i take precautions when i shop online to reduce my risk. after all, nothing is impossible so all i can do is minimise my exposure. i usually only shop at well known sites. i also try to key in my credit card number only on sites with SSL. my banks are quite vigilent on this so they'll actually call to check if i've actually done the purchase. that's quite assuring for me. at least i'll know immediately if someone misused my card. cheers ;p

yes i agree that the credit card company should be vigilant in checking. i'm very thankful that we've got good companies here in singapore. in fact, when i used my credit card for verification at paypal, i received a phone call right away from my credit card company checking if i did make that transaction. although it's pretty exasperating at that moment. i'm still thankful that they are staying on top of things. it's sad that we have to bear the cost of fraudulent transactions even if we have done our very best to prevent fraud.
