CSI is a very interesting show. Students can watch it and learn some. But I think the best teacher is the school. I agree that some part of the show is not real anymore. No offense to the creator behind the show. All in all criminology students needs all the lesson they can get. Either it's on the show or in the school.

I think all students who are taking criminology in school should watch the show Crime Scene Investigation, because even though it is fictional and is made to be interesting and keep peoples attention,it still shows the basics of how to catch a criminal, which is what criminology students need so it could help them with guidelines of what to do at crime scenes and such, but they should also keep in mind, that they can not believe everything they see on the show, since it is indeed just a television show.

I really like CSI, but I think it has about as much to do with real crime investigation as Gray's Anatomy has to do with medicine. People who pursue criminology because of what they see on CSI will probably be very disappointed with the reality of the job.

Well I wish they this subject over here in our local Uni or college. We don't have crminology to study over here. I guess the show CSI would help the students...not the glamour part but more so on the observation part like how the characters notice certain small minute details of clue. I like this series by the way

I think that is criminology students watched CSI then they would be very critical and point out everything they were doing wrong or everything that wasn't actually possible. You have to remember it is a TV program and although they try and make it as close to real life as possible, it is not real, they have to add stuff and speed stuff up for entertainment value.

I think that criminologyu students SHOULDN't watch CSI, or at least be hyper aware that it's FICTION. that it's glammed up to make it more entertaining and shiny and viewer accessible. if they dont realize that it will create a false image of forensics in their mind. which can lead them to choosing a career they are not ready for.
