If you want to know programming languge then you can create more affective and beautiful web page. and the another way is designer view. But only Html is not enough for create any website. the best thing I can recommend is use the help section and the online help if you are creating a basic website and don't need all the fancy stuff then use the WYSIWYG part of it and you should at least be able to create a basic website.
