I've had a really bad douse of the flu for a few days now, I got up this morning and decided I just had to hav a day off, now I work from home, selling online. So all that meant is that I wouldn't leave the house today. Now I relised later that I didn't have to post anything, so I didn't need to go out anyway. But this "day off" has seem me do more work than ever ! How do you take a day off when you work for yourself ?

I'm and wife and mother and have been working from home for 12 years so I know what you mean. When you work from home, you're never "off work." When I feel myself breaking down or getting sick, I force myself to take a break. The best trick for me is to get lost in a good book or a couple good movies. Then I don't think about it, at least for a while.

You are right the worst and toughest boss you can have is yourself! My wife had a very bad cold a few weeks ago and I persuaded her not to go to work. We all know that rest is the best way to beat a virus but she went all through the house doing dusting, and cleaning, and the vacuum cleaner took a real beating. When I asked her why, she said she couldn't sit around doing nothing, she'd go stir crazy.
