I do mean that they'd become just like a common good. Not a symbol of prestige.

Now they have the UMPCs - anything smaller than 10" laptop. In fact Acer just launched last week it's new product called the NetBook - it's more so for surfing the net & staying connected, thus the name. It's only 0.98 KG & small enough to put inside a hand bag. Screeb resoution is still not too bad - 1024X600

Well I think the next big thing is still to be developed a rather invented but one thing is for sure that lab top-up is definitely becoming very common nowadays and so the new thing which will be developed will be something which is even more interesting and the mobility will be considered more on that particular product in today's world everything depends on speed and mobility and that is the reason why laptop got so popular in a very short span of time. There are a lot of people doing big business without even an office. All they have is a mobile phone which is very important to communicate personally. Then they have a laptop with the wireless connection so that they can be always in touch with mains and also then they have this transport system which is most of the time a car which helps them to move their office anywhere they like and they are doing big business through these. palmtops are definitely one thing or which is becoming very popular nowadays and I think it may be that next big thing which will be very much popular after a laptop. But I personally feel that it will not be very popular among people who were not in the business because it is a very small screen which is not that easy to operate.

Palmtop could replace it.Palmtop is a computer small enough to fit in the user's hand Compared to full-size computers, palmtops are severly limited.Palmtop that use a pen rather than a keyboard for input. This could be next.
