I have a bunch of baseball, basketball and football cards that i want to sell if i can but i have NO IDEA what any of them might be worth and i think i might have some that could be worth a nice little something but i don't know and I also have a bunch of collect a book things and some i know are from old famous baseball players. I was hoping to maybe get an idea of what they could be worth before i went and took them to a store around where i live that will buy them. If i do have something worth some $$$$ I don't wanna get screwed out of it because i have no idea how much it's worth and you can't trust people these days. Does anyone know of a place online that i could check to find out what some of them might be worth?

www.beckett.com Beckett is a monthly price guide magazine. I used to use it all the time as a kid. Now it is on-line. Don't know if you need to be a member or not. I think they will even rate cards for you if you send them

You could probably ask some of the well known dealers. First of all, find out the name of your players and the year of your card, i.e., is it a rookie card?, etc. Then the card needs to be graded for condition. Bent corners or any sort of wear and tear bring down card values big time. Check e-bay for comparisons as many dealers sell there and you can get an idea of the value. Another reputable dealer is Rich Altman who is in Ft. Lauderdale, Fl. I believe his online store is BC Collectibles. You might be able to send some pictures of what you have and they can give you an idea. Local card shows are also a good indicator. Go to one and see if they have anything similar to yours and what they are going for. It will take a bit of research, but might be well worth it. Good Luck!

The sites that used to allow a couple of free searches now charge monthly online fees. My hubby said to accept my friend request and send him a list. He'll let you know whatthey could be worth. He said the easiest way would be to make a list sorting by year, brand (Topps, Fleer, etc-I hope I spelled those right ) and sort by sport. It might be easiest if you just select the star polayers to begin with and if you have older cards, he could tell you which of the commons might have interest to collectors. Or you can go to a Barnes and Nobles or Borders with your list of cards, grab a coffee or soda and grab a magazine called Beckett (they make 1 for ea sport) and go through your list of cards. If you want him to tell you what you might have, accept the friend request, theen send him a small list. Hope this helps

check shops that sell similar cards and compare prices also you could probably go to the websites of companies that made the cards to see how much they would be worth.
