My husband works for a county tax assessor and around 5PM today someone found a bomb in front of the next building over. They could not leave until the bomb squad arrived from one of the bigger towns and detonated the bomb. They could leave but anyone who was parked in the parking garage had to stay there because the garage was closed to anyone going in and out. My husband was an hour and a half late coming home from work.
I was watching the local news to see if there was an accident on the freeway because my husband is never later. I thought he got caught up in a traffic jam.I was getting anxious because my husband started having seizures in May and I was worried he was stopped on the side of the road somewhere having seizures. My imagination went wild on me it was just a bomb!

I would have paniced too. Whenever someone is late and says theyll come home or see me at a certain time, I start to think, "what could have happened" and if I call them and they do not pick up, I start to get scared and wonder what could of happened. Thank God nothing happened to your husband though. Atleast you can be thankful for that.

I am very thankful he is home safely. I knew not to call his cell phone he does not keep it on and does not know how to get his messages. I also did not want to distract him if he was driving. I was ready to start pacing the floor.

st a bomb? Hee hee hee. Nice thinking there. At least you have a sense of humor. Did the news state what type of bomb it was? Did they find out how or whom placed it there at all yet?

The bomb turned out to be something about three inches by three inches. It was a package with batteries and wires sticking out of it and it rattled. The police thought it might be a bomb so they detonated it and are inspecting it now.

They never found out who left the bomb on the library's steps. I am glad no one got hurt.

It was ONLY a bomb? LOL. Yes our imaginations can run rampart at times if we're expecting someone home by a certain time and then they don't show up when they should. I'm glad your husband's all right.
I had an incident many years ago happen to me....This was oh, about maybe eighteen years ago. My mother was still working at that time. She was invited to go to a bar with "the gals" She calls me up from work to tell me this and she said she really wasn't in the mood and probably wouldn't stay long and maybe be home no later than ten at night. Okay ten o'clock comes and goes, and she's not home yet. So figured well maybe she's having a good time and decided to stay later. But then midnight, one o'clock, two o'clock...nothing...she isn't home yet..I too watched the news, listened to the radio to hear if there were any accidents. She never told me which bar she was going to ...so didn't know if it was a bar near her workplace in Manhattan or nearer here in Queens...so it wasn't like I could start calling bars up to find out if she was there..there are thousands! In the meantime, no phone call from her to let me know she's all right...grrrrr. Do you know what time she came prancing in? Around five o'clock...wanted to strangle her! Now gee, if I had done something like that she would have had the coast guard, police, marines, army, navy after me.

you know pye I responded to you days ago I wonder what happened to it. As I remember I asked if mom had told you where she had been all that time. I know that bars stop serving drinks at 2 am.

That's weird....never saw that response. Well I think it's different here..many bars don't close until 4 in the morning believe it or not....nope she never explained anything to me....typical
