What is the difference between Pop music & Hip-Hop music? Can anyone tell me?

I don't know what is the difference between Pop and Hip Hop music. My friends say the main difference is between the beats of music. But i don't think so. Can anyone please tell me what is the difference between Pop and Hip-Hop music? Thanks for reading:

You know what, I have no idea. I have noticed though that rappers drop into both pop and hip hop categories but others like boybands and such are only in pop. I dunno they say Michael was the greatest pop artist in the world so maube try listening to his tunes and compare.
I doubt that saying " I'm Bad, I'm bad come on!" qualifies you to be a pop artist, but hey michael did it.
