The steep rise in cost of fuel and gas is hurting most of us for commuting to work place, market place, place of entertainment and other places. It has led us to think of switching over to some alternative cheaper transport options like local bus/ train, cycle etc.How much have you been impacted by the rising cost of fuels? Have there been any change in the mode and frequency of your travelling/commuting ?

I live 6 miles from my workplace. It is a rural area, so ther are no alternative transportation options. I used to go home for lunch and eat leftovers. Now I go to the park, have a snack and then go to the fitness center and exercise during my lunch break. It is saving me gas and is actually contributing to making me a little more fit. I am trying to cut back on things I don't need to do because of the high costs of everything nowadays. My electric and natural gas bill has gone sky high also. I have even cut out playing golf this summer to try to cut down. It seems the high price of gas has affected everything!

For the most part, it has made it to where most of the time, you will not catch us just running around to be driving somewhere. Since it has started costing us a lot more to drive around, and fill up the tank, we wait until we are going to be in the area and then do shopping, etc. Otherwise you find yourself going thru gas and thinking, gee... now how am I going to be able to afford to fill up? At least here, the price of gas has dropped about 5 cents in just the last 2 days which is nice.

hello dear narayan it has affected each one of us. some are affected more and the others perhaps a little more than that!! none the less look at the property rates! can you think of buying a decent flat for you now? commuting is another factor. besides taking time due to various factors, the cost of fuel has added to your and my problems and sharing the vehicle or so doesnt help. the alternate systems that are available do not serve any purpose and are worse. so you have to manage and i have curtailed the other expenditure.and pulling on somehow.
