Spitting on the pavement - probably in a 'hoodie'  

Its so gross finding gum under the table or sticking your fingers in it. It really sucks for people who have to clean it up by prying it off with a knife.

Its acutally dangerous to throw cigarette butts in the garbage though.. Could start a fire... I've done so once... was put out right away though. THere aren't really any asstrays around anymore since the governement is all anti-smoking.


I do litter around my own home though.. I drop cigerette butts in my car port all the time.. my mom gets mad.. but I pick them up eventually.

I just throw random stuff around my car. Then clean it up later.

I'm messy.. oh well

That's another noticable thing isn't it - empty cartons all over the street. My home town is Oxford, and you should see the mess all over the streets from those awfull cartons from a well known 'fast-food' chain.

While you mention chewing gum stuck under tables, what about the filthy scum who stick things under tables and chairs, which belong in a hankie?

It never used to be like this when I was a kid.

I think one thing that would help a lot with decreasing litter where I live was if we had trash cans at every bus stop. You can't take food or drinks on the bus so if you're at a bus stop without a trash can you really have no choice but to leave it on the ground.

Good comment! A lot of young folks perceive themselves as 'cool' in front of the ladies - but if only they could see what utter pillocks they are in reality.

Another little 'must-do' thing I was taught, was; always have clean, good quality shoes, because the girls notice things like that. True or not ?

I'm not sure about the clean shoes thing. I don't really notice shoes. Most of the guys I'm interested in are punks or skaters anyways so their shoes are usually falling apart.

I'm sure lots of girls care about shoes though. If your whole outfit is great but then your shoes are all mussed up it kinda ruins the look.

One bad influence upon spitting, must surely lay firmly in the hands of professional footballers - how often do you see a footballer launch a huge 'gob full' of spit onto the pitch - not only in front of thousands of people, but knowingly on TV as well.

Good, rational comment. But you know; I don't think there are many of the regular pavement spitting clan who do it because it has gathered naturally in their mouths, I think that they do it as a deliberate act.

I just realised something even funnier; me and my son wear hoddies! Heheheh I wear the ones he's grown out of.

A hoodie doesn't denote a bad person, and besides - I'm no judge that's for sure, but it has become a popular symbol that a youth, up to no good, is under the hood.

Rightly or wrongly, this is a perception by many. My appologies if my generalisation offends any readers.
