The guy said it himself, a few years back, that he has no doubt about his skills. It's just that Nadal is entering his golden age of 22, the same age when Federer started his ascension by dethroning Pete Sampras. Federer will always make things difficult for his opponents, just like Nadal would. To answer the question, will nadal be numero uno? oh yes baby... like anyone could match him right now.

Honestly, Federer isn't in the shape he was in 4 years ago and its getting harder and harder to defend titles with guys like Nadal and Djokovic on tour. Nadal isn't exactly the new king. He deserved Wimbledon 2008 because he was the better player that day. Besides, the surface is 70% clay and 30% "grass". I'm sure Federer will keep up his composure in the US Open Series unless a certain fello named Nole stands in his way...
