Ads on PTC - as an advertiser - are they worth it? Do they generate Traffic?

As we all sit and click every day - do you really look and consider the ads you are looking at? OR just wait the time to click out? I ask as I have considering buying ads to my various places to generate traffic to my various places and hopefully a little bit of income as a result. I did it to an artilce I wrote, but other than seeing the 100 hits, I didn't see an increase in my earnings on that site. Okay, so 100 ain't going make much difference, I get that, but at the same time it opened a new passel of questions for me. Is a paid ad of any help? I mean, if I buy ads to be clicked on, the viewer will click on the ad - and that could and most often be where it stops. Howver, if that viewer reads my article and maybe manuvers around my blog - and is maybe a return viewer.. and so on go the questions and concerns. Not even sure what I am specifically expecting as an answer! So share your thoughts on as a clicker - do the ads you click on ever get anymore than that? And as an Advertiser - do you see any revenues from the ads you bought on a PTC site? And any other thoughts you might have on this!
