Grey's Anatomy Season 5--Something I just read...

I was just on another site and there was a post about something that could be coming for Izzie in Season 5. I don't know if it's true, but they say that she may get a brain tumor, and there is also rumors that Denny Duquette will be making some appearances, possibly in the form of visions that Izzie has. And the rumor is, the writers are doing this to kinda mess with Katherine Heigl's head, ie. will she live or die? because of what she said about her material last season. Now, I think she is just an outspoken woman, and I think that is good. But people in general just want women to stand there and look pretty. So I think that's a major problem they have. I think she could have used better tact, but whatever, it's the past. Last season was great, but the strike did poke a lot of holes in the storline! LOL I know some people don't like Izzie because of her history, but remember, George was just as at fault--they were both drunk and he was the one trying to get out of his marriage, so I never bought the whole "blame Izzie" thing.. they both did it, and Callie, I like her, but she did kick him out after the fight, and being that she was worried about things already she should have known better. And I also know some people even like to hate on Katherine because she's been quite in the spotlight as of late, but I always want to know, how would you feel if you had a major award or project at work and people started hating you? You wouldn't like it, right? That's my problem with people's attitudes, she is doing her job, and she has a right to comment on the material if she wishes. I just hope she puts everything in to that script and makes her parts even greater this coming season! Anyway, I thought this was very interesting information, whether or not it's gonna happen, I don't know. But it will be a very good, very dramatic season if it happens! LOL SO... What do you think about this prospect? Just wanna see what other fans think, I can already tell it's gonna be a great season! I can't WAIT for September 25th!!

Yea, I just heard it.. but with mixed opinions. So I don't know what to think. Someone said maybe they are trying to mess with her head and make her not know her future, like if she was living or dying. So who knows, I am definitely hoping that is the case, because I think she is a great addition as far as personalities go, she has more heart than some of the others, except maybe George, he is pretty compassionate as well. So I really couldn't imagine what it would be like without Izzie. I'm just biding my time till September 25th.. Then we will all start to get an idea of what's going on! Well, also, I know of a pretty good site that gets pretty accurate spoilers, so when that site says something about this then I will really start to believe it.

LOL Oh wow! You are behind huh? haha I have all 4 seasons on my i-pod, but I still watch the re-runs on tv sometimes. LOL During the tv season I would have my i-pod plugged into my tv and watched it till Thursday night. Usually got through every episode in time for the new one. haha But I haven't been doing that lately, I think I'm worried I will be bummed out because I have to wait for September to see any new ones! LOL So probably about a week or so before the premier I'll start watching my collection so I'm ready for the new season!

I remember that rumor coming out this week that they were going to kill her off. But it didn't get much steam because they quickly came out and said it wasn't true. I think people just like stirring up things. Yes, she did pull out of the Emmy contention and said things about the writing. However, it's nothing like the problem they had with Isaiah Washington. I think this is tame compared to what he did. And with him gone, people are always going to be looking for something else to cause trouble.

Oh good, yea.. I don't take much stock in rumors. I have one site that I usually go by for spoilers, and that one hasn't said anything in regards to this, so I'm not going to believe it till I see it. LOL Yep, I had just mentioned about the Isaiah Washington situation in my comment above, before I read yours. You are right, what he did was much worse! It's true, people always want to stir up drama. I won't truly believe anything until I see it on tv, if I did then there would be less excitement to actually see what's to come! Although... I was psyched to hear that the season premier is gonna be 2 hours long! So I'm happy about that!

yea, the strike messed up a lot! but I am glad that at the very end it did seem like she was starting to really turn things around, and then Bailey giving her the clinic.. that really was great, because I think Izzie will be a good surgeon, but I also think that she is great with patient care, and that is an important quality, I mean, someone like Cristina is weaker in that area, and patient care and emotions are not as easy to learn as technique. So I really think a balance is needed. It's like Izzie needs to give some of her compassion to Cristina and the other way around. LOL Then I think they would both be even stronger doctors, because they would have the right amount of emotionality and rigidity. Yea, I am so psyched that it's 2 hours! I read the blog on abc.com that Shonda writes in, and her blog about the finale she was saying that right after that she was going into the writers and pitching the finale scene from the season 5 ending! She said that is how she does it. So I think that is so interesting that they know how they want it to end, and the rest is just about getting there and being dramatic and just all around amazing! So I think that's probably how season 4 got so chopped up, because they had to take a detour to get to the place that they wanted to get to on time!

I hadn't heard that yet about the premiere being two hours long! Awesome! Maybe they're making up for time lost from the writer's strike. And I think that had something to do with the material for Izzie. It had to be hard to really get something going with such a short season. I think they just used her emotional side to beat her down a bit. True she's not as aggressive as the others and she does tend to get emotionally involved a lot but when she gets down to it, she does shine through. Hopefully she'll have a stronger story line this season and continue to grow.

i've heard to that they were going to kill her off. i didn't hear about the brain tumor or anything but i don't read many magazines. i usually just catch whatever is on the cover while i'm standing in line. well here is how i see it going...what if she ends up with the kind of tumor that meredith and derek are trying to find a cure for? so it could be up in the air and if the creaters decide to keep her on then meredith and derek could do the surgery on her and save her. i heard that she had said something to tick everyone off, but i don't remember exactly what it was. I don't think they should kill her off though, she brings alot to the show. i'm a fan of hers too. i like everyone on there. i can't wait till september either!

Yea, who knows how the whole thing will play out, but I'm sure it will be interesting no matter what! LOL Oh yea, and luckily they actually did save that last girl they operated on, and the tumor was shrinking! So if it's that kind of tumor, if there really is a tumor, it would be cool to see them save her! Yea, she was withdrew her spot in the emmy's or whatever award it was, I can't remember, and she said something like she didn't want to have someone else not get it if she does because she didn't think she was given great material last season. But I really hope it blows over, I mean, this definitely isn't as bad as what Isaiah Washington said, so hopefully people maybe tell her off and drop it. I also don't think they should kill her off! And I love all the characters, sometimes it's hard to decide, but Izzie is just so nice, and even though she made the mistake she made, I still like her character, it made her even more interesting, because I think she still really needs to deal with losing Denny.

ooh.. yea, that would be really cool! I just feel that towards the end they really tied it up nicely, with Bailey giving her the clinic--so things were really starting to look like they were turning around for her. But I do think she probably still has her feelings for Denny, and I'm sure if it was real life, those would never leave completely. But I do think she needs a way to resolve her feelings so she can move on and have a healthy relationship with someone else. So I definitely hope that they do go that route, like make her think she is dying, but then let her overcome it. Because really, she seems to be a fighter at heart--she came from a low income background, overcame her pregnancy and actually faced it head on and made the responsible decision and then went on to work her way through college and Med school to become a doctor. So I think that so far she has had to be the strongest as far as overcoming obstacles, sure, Meredith has her family issues--and I can definitely sympathize with her there, but her mom was a surgeon, so it was pretty easy for her to get where she is, she just needs to work on her trust issues. Although, Alex, I am waiting to hear more about his past, because it sounds like he may have faced a lot of bad stuff as well.

i just thought and was wondering that this dilemma has been solve already, considering that i already read from a paper a couple of days ago when shonda speaks out regarding izzie's comment of her role last season. she said in that column that it was actually izzie who ask for it, to have a light role in last season, so that she could have some time also with her movie acting and some other projects she had. but who knows, this might be another twist? just like the twists they made in the previous seasons. until they starts showing the first episode then i believe nobody knows except that writers alone.

Yea, I really don't think anyone really knows what went down, except for those directly linked to it, like Shonda and Katherine and probably the other writers. And personally what she said didn't bother me, I really think everything she says is blown out of proportion. I think she did a good thing taking herself out of the running, I mean, if she knew it wasn't her best work on the show so far it wouldn't have been right to take the reward from people who did better. I mean, I think she is a great actress, and I think she did good last season.. but it definitely wasn't up to the level of the other seasons. So I believe that maybe some of the hype about the rumors of them killing her off are just being misread. Maybe there will be a twist, but I can't imagine that they would do it to "get even" for what she said.. that is so 2nd grade! They are adults, you'd think they could work things out, and I'm sure they have.. like you said. I definitely don't take too much stock in what the media says about things. Most the time they are nothing but trouble-makers trying to start a fight!

just let me comment first in your last statement.. i definitely agree with you 100%, most of the time, yes!!! not just looking for trouble, they know people will buy this kind of stuff and this boils down to just what they called, "this is just business, you know!!" business my a$$.!!, you know what i'm sayin'? all the time they keep on promoting a what you called transparent reporting.. (another BS) sorry just can't resist things like that.. anyway, (back to regular programming) i even didn't noticed it that izzie had a limited or light role in the recently concluded season. perhaps it better that we don't put so much attention in that though in the previous season, she did have great part and acting. (with denny) but at the back of my mind, i was thinking as well that considering that this is a series of events, so there would be time for each character to have big or bigger role in a certain season or episode. she already have her own share during denny's episodes. most of it there revolves around her, but off course except for mer-der and that's pretty obvious. i am thinking and inclined more for a twist to come, maybe in the middle on the season but again, that would depend on the flow when the season starts.

Thats news to me. But if they are going to kill her off slowly, I am kind of glad. Because she brought it on herself. You don't bite the hand the feeds or better yet, gives you a paycheck. Every movie project she has been on, she has trashed or made a stupid comment about. I didn't have a problem with her character last season. What does she want? Everyone at Grey's made time in their schedule to give her time to shoot her crappy movies and she trashed them like that. How ungrateful! I love the show but I will never look at her character the same way again. I am all for your speaking your mind but when you disrespect those who work hard to put your name out there you have crossed the line.
