What is the longest length of a novel you have written?

This would be counting the pages double spaced and splitting them up into chapters to where there might be a few pages that aren't full due to the new chapter beginning.. Mine is 320 pages, what is yours?

132,000 words...294 pages in 6x9 published format. 11 pt. Garamond typeface.

ugh i think mine has more than 130,000 words.. i will have to check back.. hope it doesnt hurt me as far as being a beginner

That's "In The Beginning". Rules of thumb: Under 30,000 words, short story 30-80,000 words, novella Over 80,000 words, Novel. Publishers are really hesitant to handle a book over 100,000 words unless you have a track record of selling more than 100,000 copies of a book.

I am more of a short story writer and i think it was twenty or so pages. Of course you have read it already and i still need to make the changes you suggested.

I have never written a noel, but I have written a cookbook. The Cookbook was about two-hundred seventy pages. My husband is the novel-writer in our marriage. I think he already responded to this discussion already. I'll have to go back through this discussion's response, and look for his. An interesting question for the authors among us.

yeah i think he has already responded and a cook book must be interesting!! i dont cook but the way you would have to organize everything and design it would be interesting

hi moonlitmagikchild, wauw, that is great you write novels. what are they about? i used to write short stories, a teenlit short stories . it is usually about 8-12 pages.

its a love story with dysfunctional people.. two people that crave each other yet seem toxic to each other as well
