Do you switch your cell phone to silent mode in a cinema?

This is a sign of courtesy. I always switch my cell phone to silent mode when I am in a cinema. There will always an advertisement some sort like a warning before the movie starts asking us to switch our cell phones to silent mode. Although there is such advertisement, but there are still some people who don't follow the rule. You will hear phone ringing when the movie is halfway shown. I just wonder why sometimes people tend to break the rule. What do you think? Do you practice this when you are in a cinema? Please share with me,thanks.

I agree with you. I hate it when people don't turn there cell phones to silent mode or turn them off. I always turn my cell phone off when i'm in the cinema.

I agree with you.Maybe sometimes people forget to do it but it is better for us to remember to do it because it is really impolite that your mobile ring in a cinema.I always switch my mobile to vibration mode in the public and it actually make me feel better without the embarrassing ringing.

I just put it into silent mode.. I never turn off my phone because someone might text or call me.. yeah, those people were very annoying.. and they think that they are on their own house watching their own dvd.

Yes, it was became a habit of mine that whenever I am in the cinema, I switched it into silent mode, just to be safe. Even I didn't have a very loud ringtone, I don't want to create a scene if ever it rings inside the cinema house.

I usually switch my phone to silent mode when I am in a cinema. But there are times when I don't. It's not because I forget to but because I don't think anyone would be troubled when I receive a text message because my message alert tone is not long and loud. It's just like some soft sound which I don't really notice a lot. Have a nice day!

Of course I do. This is one of those rules that should not be broken. It is very rude and annoying for cell phones to go off during a movie. There is no reason. Put the phone on vibe if you must take a call and leave the theater if necessary. It cost a great deal of money these days for a movie ticket and the movie doesn't last all day. If you can't stay off the phone for the length of time of a movie then please don't go!

Yeah I usually put my cell phone on sielent or vibarate. It can be very annoying when someones phone rings in the middle of a movie. Especially now with the texting ringtones. Some people just doesn't understand that it is rude.
