Childhood dream  |

 When you are a small kid, do you have a lot of dreams? I dreamt that I can meet my idol one day. I dreamt that I can visit Disneyland one day. I dreamt that I am married and have kid and living in a cosy home with a nice garden. I dreamt that I am able to help people and plant a smile onto everyone's face. When I grow up, without realising it, I am leading my life in a way achieving these dreams. I saved from my earnings to buy the concert ticket and watch my idol singing live. I went to Hong Kong Disneyland last year. I am now married and expecting my first baby! However, I have not own a house with a nice garden yet. I tried my best to help whoever in needs, but I wish to do more! Don't you think that life is somehow affected by our childhood dreams? What is your childhood dreams and how far have you achieve them?

I feel that I must congratulate you as I know that you have achieved many of your dreams as a child already. Even if it's not yet a hundred percent accomplished, you've gone a long way already.
Personally as a child, I've seen myself having my own family living in our own house and land. I've achieved this partially as I'm already married and we do have a daughter who is turning three in a month's time. My other half and I prefer to establish and own a business so that we could be together always and be with our daughter day in and day out. However, we're still in the process of paying-off all our outstanding obligations so it's really hard squeezing our monthly income. More so, it's very difficult for us to save even just a portion of it for our child's future education as I'm the only one working at present. We decided that my husband stays at home in the meantime taking care of our daughter, since he doesn't have a stable job and we really can't afford the services of a nanny as of now.
We have many other plans for our daughter and one of these is to send her to a good school to learn a couple of years from now. My husband and I both decided that I will go abroad to work there. Honestly, I'm targetting Singapore as it is quite near to our homeland. And I don't have to do major adjustments as temperature and time zone are same with us here. I also plan to apply for a permanent resident status there so after about six months, I will be able to be with my family again. Aside from them, I'd also like to help my own relatives and that of my husband's so that they, too, could uplift their way of living in the province. I hope and I believe that these would be a reality in the soonest possible time, with the Lord's help and guidance.

He is a professor in Carnegie Mellon University. In his speech "Last lecture", he is actually telling us how he achieved his childhood dreams. I only knew it on 26th July 2008 after reading from google. Just want to share the news with you guys here. May he rest in peace! | |

Whoever gets into the big screen with the protagonist character would always have me wanting to be in that character's shoes. And dreaming like a child is fun, and if there is one thing that I would always want, that is to be a child, and dream on different characters forever.
