What dictionaries say about scam: 1. A ploy by a shyster to raise money. 2., A fraudulent business scheme. To scam means to victimize: deprive of by deceit; "He swindled me out of my inheritance"; "She defrauded the customers who trusted her"; "the cashier gypped me when he gave me too little change" 3. A confidence trick, confidence game, or con for short (also known as a scam) is an attempt to intentionally mislead a person or persons (known as the mark) usually with the goal of financial or other gain. The confidence trickster, con man, scam artist or con artist often works with an accomplice called the shill, who tries to encourage the mark by pretending to believe the trickster. It is obvious that people can get scammed or cheated off something they get themselves involved on the internet. This can also go with types of emails you open on a daily basis. You sort through your spam box and read messages about some person in Nigeria that needs you to send money to him in support of his sick son that is living in the United Kingdom. Now I know many of you has got emails like that and it would have been hilarious if one actually fell for it. The reason for the purpose of scammers in this world is to find any way they can to break/cheat the system into making money of their own or maybe the crew/group of people they are with. Funny how people such as these will find ways to promote something, persuade and lure people into tricking them to buy or even have them promote a product promising they would pay, but in reality the victims aren't picking up a penny. This also goes for people online who lure people into buying items using their credit cards and other information -- Guess what! They have never received the items. So much for a site to join didn't realize it was a phishing site and got scammed from it. Now speaking of making money online SCAMS I can only say about this. There are a lot of newbies that can't even define what SCAM means. And funny too is for newbies that even go on Mylot and start posting topics such as "Is Mylot A Scam?" or even joining PTC Sites many people start to rant and going off the wall with sites that might have a connection problem, a bug or glitch and automatically they are going to think SCAM! SCAM! But that's now how it works! The only time a money making online site is a scam is if a member of a site has joined a site that claims they do pay, but the member has NEVER received a penny or a dime of earnings after they have requested payout and have waited for a long period of time that was pass the TOS Policy for most sites that have set a date of when they would payout members. You also have to be cautious for example on PTC sites that offer premium upgrades. You have to pay close attention and get the right information which ones to purchase and which ones to not. I wouldn't want to put my money to buy upgrades on certain PTC Sites then all of a sudden I have waited almost a year or a long time just to cash out $10 or $20 from clicking ads. Then off the charts I'd say I have been cheated, ripped off and joined a scam site. So if one is going to rant about what's a SCAM then do it the proper way and understand what it defines. For people who rant because they don't see things the way they want it to be or assume something doesn't give them any right to blurt out scam without further proof to do so. Now if anyone here has a story to share about being scammed go ahead and talk about it.
