Who named your child?

I myself named both my children, their names are species of a dragon as you can see at my avatar two dragons symbol for my two kids LOL!!!

When my wife was about to deliver the labour has just begun. I took her to maternity clinic and went to attend to urgent matters that needed my attention and I could not leave it. So I left her under the care of clinic nurse and our lady family friend. Three hours later I call back the clinic and I was given our friend lady, the first thing she ask me over the phone was "What is the name of the child? A boy" she was asking as if I am in the clinic and it is her and my wife who are there in the clinic. Lucky enough I had two names in mind for a boy and a girl. And borned one I called JABEZ KIPRUTO. Come the second born I give the name also I called him DILIGENT KIPTOO. I realize with the modern standard of life men are the one who names their children at birth.

My husband and I don't plan to hae children, ut i we were going to, we'd want to be in total agreemen about the name. We would want to pick the name together. We both like the same names, so that will work just fine. Ironic since we don't plan to have children.

My elder child was named by my sister-in-law and younger one was named by my wife. Since both are male children, their names chosen by female members I think is very rational and approving. Thanks for this nice topic!

I named two of them and the child was named by the mom. For three children,my parents gave them second names.

We had many options when we had to name our child. We shortlisted 10 and then short listed 5. This was an effort by my family and not just a single person. After that we all decided on one name and that was the final one. Our baby was named by the same.
