Who do you pretend to be online?

Did you have such experience before? You were trying to pretend to be someone when you were chatting online with someone else. I never tried this before to cheat somebody. But my boyfriend did and now he is still pretending. He pretends to be a girl in his game chat room to cheat the guys for free weapons to be used in the game. He always try to flirt with the guys to get advantages from them,lol. How about you? Did you do this before? Who did you pretend to be online? Please share with me,thanks.

I am myself, i have had friends who like to play games and would ahve be go on and pretend to be some person hitting on their boyfriend, and make sure i didnt say anything that would give away i new the girl, i wouldnt even do that, cuz once you start a lie, its too hard to keep it going without slipping up at some point. so why bother. Being honest is the only way to go

Personally, I could never do this. I always believe in being Honest and myself when it comes to being online. I feel why try to be someone you are not, and then upsetting someone in the end if they ever find out. I find it Best to be Honest with all man no matter where it is in this life, and always try to help and be of support for them. You never know when they will truly need it, and will end up Thanking You for it in the end.

Back when I used to go into chat rooms (anyone remember the old Yahoo! chatrooms from like 2002-2003 where you would be playing a live game like checkers or chess with the other person?) I would pretend to be whoever the other person wanted me to be - I just wanted a competitor to play whatever game I was playing!

I rarely go online to chat. Even if I do, I only get to chat with people I personally know. That means that I need not pretend to be somebody else. There were times that I was able to chat with some strangers. However, I do not pretend to be someone who I am not. I do not really see any reason why I should. There were times though that I thought about doing this. But I ended up not doing it anyway.

I am always myself on line or off. I don't know how to be anything other than what and who I am. I have met some people from on line, in real time. When they go back into the chat where we met and, people ask them, "What's she like?" The response is always the same. She is exactly the same as she is in chat. I don't really see the point in pretending to be someone or something you aren't. Not even on line.
