My duaghter in law is going in on friday morning to have her labor induced. Is it safe to do it like this when she is not even in labor. I know my oldest son was induced but after I had been laying in the hospital in labor for about 12 hours. They have had this scheduled for a few months. Weird.

I was induced with my son. He was supposedly 2 weeks overdue so after a day in hospital and no show of him wanting to come out, they induced me Thursday night at 10pm and I had him the next morning at 2am.

I was induced with my son. i wasn't in labor when they did it. mine wasn't scheduled months ahead of time though. did they do it for health reasons? i went in for my 40 week checkup and my blood pressure was high and wasn't coming down when they had me lay on my side. so they sent me to the hospital and checked me. i was borderline preeclamsia so they decided to induce me before it got worse. i got to go home and get some rest and then reported back to the hospital to be induced. everything went find and my son is a healthy and active kid, who will be 1 on monday!

they did say that she has high blood pressure. That must be the reason. I just hope that everything is ok. She has had such a hard time with this pregnancy. I want to see my granddaughter!!!

I was induced with my first. The day I was due and she told me that would happen a couple of weeks before she did it if there was no change in anything. Its nice to know there is an end when your so far along and nothing seems to be happening. I did hear that alot of times induced labor ends up as a c-section. Mine did but my 2 friends were both induced and they had no problems. I think it just has to do with the size of the baby and how much you can handle b/c the reason my baby never moved down was b/c she was too big and thats why nothing was happening with me. Besides that she was facing sunny side up and she wouldn't turn.
