I was reading an article about in New York that McDonald's is now listing the calorie count is right up on the menu. I was wondering how many people would change thier eating habits if they knew up front how many calories was in a super sized meal? I know that I might relize how unhealthy some of thier salads would really be. So, what are your thoughts?

I think it's a great idea. I think a lot of people order the grilled sandwiches and salads thinking that they're 'healthy', and it might give those who are trying to be calorie conscious a bit of a wake-up call. Of course, the die-hard fast food fans won't care, but that's them. I don't eat McDonald's, so it would only drive home how glad I am and how much better my health is for making the choice NOT to eat there.

That's good. Much better that people will know how much calorie in their foods contains. It might be bad for their business. People will be conscious of the food they will going to eat. That means less sales. The customer benefits from the information. I think i like their honesty better if this will push through.

I doubt I would change my eating habits but then mine aren't bad. We have a takeaway meal about once, sometimes twice a week and the rest of the time we eat a lot of fish and veg. I find it hard to believe that anyone thinks that McDonalds is remotely healthy or low in calories especially the super sized meal.

I am glad that you are aware of what you are eating. I am cutting it down also. I will be interested in the salads and the sweet tea.

Hi Kaysue! I only eat fast foods when i want to indulge, so i dont think that would change. I'm so busy counting calories as it is, so when i feel like it i eat whatever i want. But at my age i have to be careful at how many calories i take in,it seems all i have to do is look at food and my weight goes up.

YES in a heart bit.Because there are a lot of illness that is cause by high calories intake at least there are fastfood that makes you aware of your eating habit at least you will be warn or reminded all the time if you eat a lot of food that is high in calories. And i think they are not going to put in there if they are not concerned about the health of their customers and besides there are a lot of customers right now that is health conscious maybe some customer suggested it that's why the establishment put it.
