Are you afraid of needles (injections)?

When I was a kid, my late parents were so tired chasing after me whenever its time for a booster dose of vaccines. I really was so afraid with needles and getting an injection at some point then made me collapsed. How embarrassing to reveal but it is just okay since those were the bad day I got hurt.
But now, I am afraid no more because being in the field wherein an injection is necessary to revive a dying patient from immediate death makes my fears just go away.
How about you? Still afraid?

I am not afraid of them. I've been poked, prodded, stuck and needled by doctors and nurses for a very long time *lol*. 5 pregnancies later I look like I was an addict on one arm because of the scaring of the blood work done so often.
I'm also a tattoo enthusiast. I have two of them with plans for more. The only needles I don't like are the Novocain ones for oral surgery or dentist visits. I don't like needles that close to my mouth or face. Then I have a phobia of dentists because of a bad experience as a child.

i also don't like novocaine injections. i used to have my braces but prior to that i had 2 molar extractions. i felt like the needle penetrated much deeper that i sustained a terrible head ache afterwards. thanks for the response shealM! god bless!

I am actually afraid of needles..aside from the look of the needles that it is scary...I know it will hurt me...That's why as much as possible I don't want to have the annual check up sometimes bec. it requires to get some blood for cbc or sugar count.
Happy posting...;p

thanks for posting! sometimes there really are things that are to be done even if they tend to cause us pain. Injections for one make us initially get hurt but in the long run give us more benefits. have a healthy life!

same thing with you,i used to when i was younger and during first grade the classroom are always full of students crying because Ms. school nurse is here again to dart a needle in our arms. and since i venture in the medical field and which everyday i see them and always use them and even using IV cath to start an IV is just a routine procedures for me, so basically and playing with needles already but professionally. the only thing that i still have apprehensions is when having an appointment with the dentist, specially when you'll get to see the needles they use and with a metal canister that is huge, just like our thumb. that was scary.!! a cousin of mine always collapsed every time he had an appointment with his dentist.

I was maybe afraid of needles when i was a kid that is why i don't have any vaccine marks on my shoulders. Hehehe. But now, as a blood sucker i don't find it as a stuff to be afraid of. I even have my injectable pills which is administered every 3 months.. I even get my blood sample alone. I do it by myself. That's how i deal with them. Hahaha!!!
