Is this more hypocrisy from the Democrats?

Hello All, "In Colorado, consumers pay 40.4 cents per gallon in state and federal fuel taxes.... The committee hosting the Democratic National Convention has used the city's gas pumps to fill up and apparently avoided paying state and federal fuel taxes.... "There's something there that just doesn't seem right to me because, in a sense, you're saying then that the officials who pass the laws are not willing to live by them," said Councilwoman Jeanne Faatz." http://www.rockymountainnews.com/news/2008/jul/22/city-gives-dnc-host-committee-pass-gas-tax/ Then, when the DNC host committee gets caught evading paying fuel taxes, their spokesperson declares that it's OK because he knows for a fact that the same thing is going on in Minneapolis. The problem is that he is either terribly misinformed, or is lying! The MN. GOP host committee personnel are purchasing their fuel from public pumps, not the city's private pumps. So, not only is the DNC spokesperson saying that it's ok to break the law because someone else is, he's also falsely accused the RNC host committee to deflect attention from his own illegal activities! Though ... Wait one minute, let's not lose sight of the importance of: The DNC declares that it's OK to break the law, and use government funds for DNC 'private events' because they believe the other side is doing the same. Wow! Is this a national Presidential campaign or the 6th grade??? What ever happened to not jumping off of a bridge just because somebody else jumped off of that bridge? Now, here's where the story takes a colorful turn toward the truly bizarre ... "The host committee, which is responsible for raising money to put on the convention, is using the city's pumps "for safety and security reasons," Lopez said. "We know the gas is not tainted," he said. "We use it as a safety and security measure." So, is Chris Lopez paranoid? Or is it feasible that Phillips 66 and Shell are conspiring with Colorado Republicans to figure out which drivers are Democrats, and taint the gas at public gas stations? Of course, the tainting must be with a special 'blend' which only affects the automobiles of registered Democrats. Otherwise we'd certainly have heard complaints from at least one or two Independents, don't you think??? My questions to you are: 1. What say you? 2. How is it that this party of paranoid thieves is still viable? 3. Why is it that young people are flocking to this party that is so hypocritcal --with it's 'superdelegates' and 'do as we say, not as we do' attitude? 4. Has anyone ever heard of this Chris Lopez or Hickenlooper before? Where do they find these people who so easily assume that the taxpayer should pay for their 'private events'??? Maybe you all can clue me in ... 'cause I just don't get it! How can we rail against gov't corruption, and turn around and vote for for these party hacks??? Thanks, I really look forward to reading your thoughts about this.

The party of thieves, communists and gays is still viable because people are not paying attention to what they are doing. They go home, turn on the TV and see that Bush and the republicans are evil and that the democrats care. People just don't care enough to inform themselves as to what is really happening. That's my opinion and I'm sticking to it. Since we are on the subject of fuel... take a look at this... http://wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=70337 I think I will go play my game and kill some stuff now...

Hey there Destiny, Thanks so much for redirecting me to that link. I read the first paragraph this morning, then got distracted. I intended to go back to it, though I forgot. Yup, I'm already on the phone to Congress over this! They have simply got to get out of the way of domestic oil extraction before they drive us all to soup kitchens and unemployment lines!!! 'Bush is evil and the Democrats care.' Hmmm, you might be on to something there. It may really be as simple as that.

Not surprised. Not one bit. That's for the first question. For the second, some people believe in the message of the party. There are also others who are tired of the current administration. Some individuals know they can benefit directly by electing their party. In a similar vein there are struggling families that see the party as a possible solution. There are also those who want change from what's been happening the past few years (pun not intended, I'm trying to give an assessment here). For the third question you can use some of what was said in the last sentence. From my experience there is a subtle hypnotism for young people towards the Democrat party (main source: the schools). Have I heard of Lopez or Hickenlooper. I've barely heard of Lopez and haven't heard of Hickenlooper.

Hey there Progamer, Geesh, I'm sorry that I missed your response here earlier. I hope it's not too late to ask a follow up question. Why do you suppose the Dem Party has a hypnotizing effect on our youth? I have long suspected that the elusive dream of socialistic 'equality' is a draw to our youth, primarily because most youth have few tangibles to lose to sanctioned thievery. Is my theory on par or parallel with what you're thinking? Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this.

Good grief Ladyluna Democrat just cannot help themselves. So let me get this straight the DNC believe that government cannot do without their precious gas taxes or all roads will cave in. Though when give a chance to contribute to the build a bridge fund the DNC turns it down. Those evil Republican gas stations cannot be trusted. I would if I could like to ask Chris Lopez were does he think the gas comes from that the city is using. Last time I checked all oil come from those evil Republican oil companies. I cannot begin to understand what is going on in those piles of mush we call the future leaders of America. I am worried for the long haul of this great country. One thing we do not have to worry about is that Americas piles of mush do not vote. I have never heard of Chris Lopez before today. I have heard of Hickenlooper from you in an earlier discussion. The story was about the singer at the Denver city council meeting that sung the Black national anthem. I do not know where these people are created. Maybe some factory own by the DNC to create their candidates.

Hello Gewcew, Amazing, isn't it? The abuse of 'The People's trust is rather like a uniqe DNC version of Terret's Syndrome. If there is a DNC factory somewhere, then we need to find it -- and pronto. Somebody's got to fix the 'bug' in the production line.
